If you are a small minority- or woman-owned business looking to apply for state contracts.
Of state contracts and projects, 6.25 percent are set aside and available for state-certified small minority businesses. This includes businesses owned by persons who are ethnic minorities, women or disabled.
The Minority and Small Business Supplier Diversity Program will help people apply for state contracts.
Eligible businesses must:
- Have principal place of business in Connecticut.
- Have gross revenues not exceeding $15 million during the most recent fiscal year.
- Have at least 51 percent ownership by one or more minority persons who exercise operational authority over daily affairs of the business, have the power to direct management and policies, and receive the beneficial interests of the business.
A minority is a person who is American Indian, Asian, Black or Hispanic; has origins in the Iberian Peninsula; is a woman; or is an individual with a disability.
